“Hello, Ms. Martin. Thank you guys for the opportunity to help me better myself. I really did learn self-improvement and how to control my anger. I appreciate this chance to help me. You guys helped me see I can do so much more when I stop and think about my choices. I really appreciate this offer.”

“This program changed my life in a way I never expected. I never thought sitting in a classroom at the YOC every Thursday would make such a big difference in my life. While attending this class, I became so well-connected because of the people surrounding me and the support they gave to me. I was only 15 when I was introduced to Ms. Jones and Mr. G. They had no idea what they were getting into with me. I was 15, trying to become emancipated because I was getting kicked out. I definitely didn’t have an easy life, but to be here today, over ten years later, I have been in the same relationship for over a decade with three beautiful children and a first-generation college graduate. I wouldn’t change a thing now. As part of the staff, I get to do for others what someone was for me. Be a helping hand to the next generation.”

“I am honored to write this glowing letter of acknowledgment for Ms. Cole. I found Kids in Konflict in April 2021, when I was off course in my parenting style and skills. I was in dire need of help and support and in search of new tools. Although Mr. G, Mrs. Jones, and Ms. Martin are essential to the program, and they helped my son understand the dangers of his behavior and the road he could travel if his poor choices continued. However, Ms. Cole's Parenting class was the most vital part of the program for me. Her techniques and concepts for the ABCs of parenting are simple yet incredibly beneficial. She has this way of breaking things down with such a realness it's easily understood and accepted. I never feel judged, embarrassed, ashamed, or hopeless when speaking with Ms. Cole. She has this loving motherly aura and is supportive, encouraging, compassionate, and understanding. And at the very same time, she feels like your girlfriend who keeps it real with you and tells you "how it is" with a gentleness of love. She helped me understand the parenting style l created that made my childrearing difficult, not my child. I could acknowledge the problems l created for myself with the lack of consistency and patterns I had generated over the years. The toughest part of the program was not trying to change and mold my son but changing myself and how l was responding. I saw the changes in him only after l saw the changes within myself. My son has finished the program, and almost two years later, l am still learning and evolving as a person, a mother, and a wife with the guidance of Ms. Cole. She's no longer just a parenting coach; she has become my mentor, life coach, and confidant. She has become an incredible asset to my life and every week l look forward to our conversation. Ms. Cole has enriched my life in so many countless ways. The most important one being is that she helped me change the course of my relationship with my son. He and l now have a healthier, stronger, and healed relationship. Words could never express my gratitude, appreciation, and love l have for Ms. Cole. All her tips, tools, insights, and sometimes tough love were exactly what l needed so l could be here right now. Without this program, without Ms. Cole l fear my life wouldn't be nearly as sweet as it is now.”
